Reflection on class performance
In class on Tuesday we were asked to present mini skits of characters from Krit Krat interacting with one another on stage.
Joey: Guy
Nan: Célianne
David D: Lili
This adaptation was probably the most interesting out of the groups. This group incorporated a lot of improve into their scene. This groups performance was different and creative. This is because Guy in this adaptation was less inclined to look at himself as a failure due to work, but because Lili never agreed with him. She also disagreed with Guy when he wanted to go on the boat with Célianne. This adaptation helped me see the disfunction of Guy and Lili's marriage.

Grace: Girl trying to catch the boat
In Helen's group, she played as the female narrator in "Children of the Sea" and Grace played as a girl who was trying to catch the boat to see her boyfriend. This skit was serious and filled with emotion. Helen tried to calm Grace down by grabbing her and caressing her. She said that even if she caught the boat she was helpless. This scene was very powerful and it showed me the sadness the people in the story feel.
Yun: Night Women
David: Guy
Josh: Little Guy
I liked how this scene showed big conflicts between the Night Women and Guy even after Guy is dead. The Night Women never forgave Guy for what he did. In this adaption the Night Women is Lili in a later year. We can be sure of this because Guy is returning to see his son. the Guy is a ghostly figure who comes back to see his child years after he dies. This very interesting and I liked of this group was able to think so abstractly. It helped me see that other groups believe too that the Night Women is Lili.

Josh: Guy
Aaron: Night Women.
Our thought was similar to Yun's group when thinking the the Night Women is Lili in a later year. Our performance was two monologues set up on stage between Guy and the Night Women. The two monologues were set up almost as 2 love letters to each other, but neither one could hear what the other one was saying. This is a similar setup to "Children of the Sea." My lines as Guy showed that he was regretful for leaving his family but needed to die in order to feel free. This skit helped me see that in my mind I believe that Guy was regretful but needed to do it in order to feel freedom.
