I felt if I were to put on a production of  Romeo and Juliet, I would start the opening scene off with distugihsing the Capulets from the Montagues right away. I would do this with the colors of the clothing but the type of clothing would be the same to show equal social classes. They are very similar in wealth and social status but the two are complete opposites of each, and are sworn enemies. I would show this by having the Capulets being dressed in fine white clothes, and the Montagues in fine black clothes.  The colors difference would distingus themselves being polar  opposites. Also, both Montague and Capulets would speak in perfect Sheakesperian language, but one family could have a distinct dialect to show difference between the two groups as well.

When staging I would have the Capulets and Montague on separate sides of the theater, only converging when the fight scene come into play or the end when they make amends. This would show diverson. When the Montagues and  Capulets would converge there would be a constant magnet feel that would perpel them away from each other. At the ball we can even feel the tension when Romeo is spotted by Tybalt but Lord a Capulet allows it becuase he does not want disturbance. But there is a sense that he is uptight about it as well even though Romeo is a class citizen. Body language would be tense whenever a Capulet would talk to a Montague and vice versa. The biggest thing to showing tension on stage is having a conflict. Conflict between these two families goes way back before the play even started. That why I feel it is essital to start out with a conflict and make it aparent to the audience early so the feeling really sticks with them throughout the entire play
