Why Josh is so Lucky to have Ms Guarino for 3 Years!
Welcome to the Best of Josh Comune blog. I promise this will be the most awesome, and interesting blog of mine yet. I am a three year student here at Cheshire Academy, and I have been here since my freshman year. It's crazy how to think on how time flies by when you are a high school student. I remember laying down in the forum writing my first blog for Ms Guarino's class like it was yesterday. Well now students are not allowed in the forum in between classes. Cheshire Academy has really changed since I have been here, and so have I as a person. I remember being that awkward freshman with a bad haircut who had a decent group of friends but didn't go beyond my own comfort level. Now as a junior, I feel a lot more comfortable in my own skin, and have developed as a much better overall person.
I now try to spread myself out to as many people as possible. This is very different from 2 years ago. I wouldn't say I have a best friend but instead a large group of friends, many who don't even hang out with my other friends. I hang out with my football team and a lot of different groups of people from all over the world. It is a great experience and I am trying to take advantage of the opportunities Cheshire Academy offers me to meet as many people in my life as possible. Everyone is different and has a different story. I try to be as nice and respectful as possible to people who may not share the same beliefs as me, and may still try and befriend them if I find that their character is appealing.
One thing that plays a huge role in my life is working out and nutrition. I am very active with many sports, football being the big one right now, but this summer I was very open to trying new sports and activities. I tried soccer for the first time in almost 10 years, and found that I was still pretty good. I am still a member of the Cheshire Academy football team and I am hoping to have done a good enough job to earn a captain role of the team this year. Our team is really good this year, and I think we are going to shock a lot of people. I went on a lot of runs during the summer to get in the best shape of my life, and hit the gym almost everyday. The whole summer I was very cautious about the food I put into my body. I found nutrition as a calling, and with the changes I made to my own body I want to inspire others to do the same. I felt like I really found myself this summer, and continue to try new things which in the past I wouldn't have been willing to do.
I decided to take IB Lit and Perfermance becuase I have a 2 year background with Ms Guarino. I really like how she gets us active in class. I feel that the change of having a teacher that just doesn't lecture for 45 minutes is a nice change in a hard scheduled junior year. I love the performing aspect of the class. I feel she sees the same changes in me, and I am going to try and strive to be a leader in her classroom, I feel acting class helped me break out of my shell, and it is still something I can see myself doing in the future.
I want to get the most out of my 4 years at Cheshire Academy both academically, and athletically. I want to strive to get into the most prestigious colleges, and I know a lot ride on this year. I am going to work as hard as I've ever worked in my life, and know it's not going to be easy. My schedule has a lot of tough classes on it, and I'm going to need to manage my time better than ever, especially because I won't be getting home until 9-10pm this year due to commuting from 45 minutes away. This year is going to test me both physically and mentally but I feel I am ready for the challenge and am ready to tackle it head on.
